How Much Does a Commercial AV System Cost in India?
Share
The cost of a commercial AV system in India depends on the room size, the type and size of the displays, the number of cameras and microphones, the platform licence, control, cabling, installation and the support you choose. These vary room by room, so a BOQ gives a reliable figure, while a single product price does not.
What decides the cost of an AV system?
Nine things move the figure more than anything else, and they are the items a quote should list separately:
- the size and use of the room, and how many rooms there are;
- the displays: technology, size, brightness and duty rating;
- cameras and microphones, and how many the room needs;
- the video platform and its licences;
- control and automation;
- cabling, power and data points, and building work;
- acoustic treatment where the room needs it;
- installation, programming, testing and training;
- warranty and maintenance after handover.
Two projects with the same number of seats can differ widely once these items are priced, which is why we do not publish a price per room.
How does the room change the system?
Bigger rooms need more of everything. A huddle room can use one all-in-one bar, while a boardroom needs several cameras, ceiling microphones and a large display. Compare the Poly Studio R30, a 4K bar with a 120 degree field of view for small rooms, with the Poly Studio X70 with TC10, which has dual cameras, each with a dedicated 4K sensor, and up to 25 foot pickup range for large rooms. The two are built for different rooms, and the quantity and type of equipment change accordingly. Our guide to choosing a video conferencing system explains the sizing.
How do display choices change the budget?
Display choices are usually the largest single item. Technology, size, brightness and duty rating all matter. A 43 inch display for a corridor, such as the Samsung QB43C rated 16/7, is a different purchase from a 105 inch display rated 24/7 such as the Samsung QP105DX-5K. LED walls add a further variable: the finer the pixel pitch, the more LEDs per square metre. The Unilumin Umini5 comes in pitches from P0.93 to P1.87, and a project can save money by choosing the coarsest pitch that still looks sharp from the real viewing distance. Read our guides to pixel pitch and LED and LCD video walls.
What else adds to the total?
Items that sit outside the main equipment are easy to forget. Licences for the video platform, mounts and carts, control systems, network switches, cabling and power points all appear in the final figure. A control processor such as the Crestron CP4, with eight relays, eight Versiport I/O and eight IR/serial ports, is one line in a larger control design. Site work also counts: conduit, floor boxes, ceiling work and acoustic treatment depend on the building, not on the equipment. Our guide to choosing a TV mount, cart or stand covers the mounting side.
What happens after installation?
A project has costs after handover. Warranty terms differ by product, and an annual maintenance contract adds preventive visits and priority response. Compare the total of purchase, installation and several years of support, not only the first invoice. Our comparison of AMC and one-time repair explains the options.
How do you compare quotes fairly?
Compare scope before price. Check that every quote covers the same rooms, the same equipment by make and model, the same cabling and installation work, the same licences and the same support. A lower figure often leaves items out, such as programming, commissioning or training. Ask each supplier to list exclusions in writing.
How do you get a reliable number?
Ask for a bill of quantities. A BOQ lists each item, quantity and service for your rooms, so you can see where the money goes and compare suppliers line by line. Read what an AV BOQ is and how to request one, then use our BOQ request form. Corporate AV prepares scope-based quotes after a site survey. See our AV design services, meeting room and boardroom solutions, and request a quote. Browse equipment in video conferencing, commercial displays and digital signage.
To turn these indicative ranges into a figure for your rooms, start with our AV consultancy services and AV design services, which produce a bill of quantities, and let our AV installation services team confirm the labour.
Frequently asked questions
What is the cost of an AV system for a meeting room in India?
It depends on the room size, the display, the camera and microphone system, the platform licence, control, cabling and installation. Because of these variables we quote from a BOQ for your room instead of a price per room.
Which part of an AV system costs the most?
Displays are usually the largest single item, especially large or high-brightness displays and LED walls. The ranking changes with the project, so check the BOQ line by line.
Why do two quotes for the same room differ?
Often because the scope differs. One quote may include programming, commissioning, training or licences that the other leaves out. Compare the equipment by make and model and the services covered before comparing totals.
Are there costs after installation?
Yes. Warranty terms differ by product, and maintenance, software licences and updates continue after handover. An annual maintenance contract turns many of these into a predictable annual item.
How do I get an accurate AV cost for my project?
Request a BOQ with your project type, room dimensions, use and platform. After a site survey, Corporate AV prepares a scope-based quote that lists each item and service.
