Gooseneck Microphones in India

A gooseneck microphone has a flexible stem that lets you aim the microphone at the speaker's mouth while it stays fixed in one place. It is the usual choice for lecterns, pulpits, courtrooms, council tables and conference desks, where the speaker stays put and the microphone should be easy to see and adjust.

The range is led by the Shure MX400 family, in lengths from 5 inch to 18 inch, with cardioid, supercardioid and mini-shotgun capsules, Dualflex versions for precise positioning, and versions with no capsule so you can choose the capsule yourself. White finishes and low-profile versions are available, and Shure MXC units take the 25 inch MXC425DF. You will also find Audio-Technica and TOA models.

Corporate AV supplies, installs and supports gooseneck microphones across India. Tell us the lectern, desk or table and who will speak, and we will recommend the right length and pattern, or request a quote for supply, installation and commissioning.

How to choose a gooseneck microphone

Choose the length, the pickup pattern and the mounting first. The rest follows from the lectern or desk.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Questions our clients ask before buying

If you don't see your question here, our consultants will gladly walk you through specifics on a discovery call.

What is a gooseneck microphone used for?
It is used where a speaker stays in one place, for example a lectern, podium, pulpit, courtroom or conference desk. The flexible stem lets you aim the microphone at the speaker.
How long should the gooseneck be?
It depends on how far the speaker sits from the mount. The Shure MX400 family comes in 5, 10, 12, 15 and 18 inch lengths, with a 25 inch MXC425DF for MXC units. Choose a length that brings the capsule close to the speaker without blocking their view.
What is the difference between cardioid and supercardioid?
Both pick up mainly from the front. Supercardioid is narrower, which can help reject sound from the sides in a busy room, while cardioid is more forgiving if the speaker moves around. The product titles show the pattern of each model.
What does "no capsule" mean?
Some Shure gooseneck models are sold as the stem and electronics only, so you can choose the capsule separately. This lets you match the pattern to your room. Check the product page for compatible capsules.
What is a Dualflex gooseneck?
Dualflex is a Shure gooseneck design built for precise positioning, for example the MX410LPDF and MX415RLPDF models. Some versions include a bi-color status indicator, so check the product page for the features of the version you choose.
