Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Q-SYS Server Core X20r?
The Q-SYS Server Core X20r is a rack server core with redundant hot-swap power supplies and 384 x 384 network channels. It is the step up from the X10 for convention centres, campuses and any site where one failed power supply must not stop the audio. The hardware platform is a Dell R360XE server, with 128 AEC channels, 24 NM-T1 microphones, 64 softphones and a 480 GB media drive.
What makes the X20r different from the X10?
It has 384 x 384 network capacity instead of 256 x 256, 128 AEC channels instead of 64, redundant hot-swap power supplies and a larger 480 GB drive, but four 1 Gbps ports instead of 2.5 Gbps.
Can I manage it remotely?
Yes. It has a dedicated iDRAC v9 Ethernet port on the rear and an iDRAC Direct micro-USB port on the front for server management.
What network ports does it have?
Four 1000 Mbps ports: two for Q-SYS multimedia audio and two auxiliary. Two ports on the audio side give a redundant pair.
What are the physical details?
About 599 x 482 x 42.8 mm including rack ears and handles, weighing 13.23 kg, supplied with a rail kit and two region-specific power cords.
Does the X20r have analog I/O?
No. It is a network-only core; add network endpoints for microphones and loudspeakers.
