Overview
The Absen JP5 Pro is a true-black LED display in the Jupiter Pro touring series, using black LEDs to cut surface reflection and lift contrast to 8,500:1, with 5,000 nits brightness, 16-bit grayscale and a 7,680 Hz refresh rate.
It comes in 500 x 500 mm and 1000 x 1000 mm solid panels weighing 9.5 kg and 29.5 kg, so a touring crew can mix panel sizes to build a wall quickly.

True black for strong contrast
The JP5 Pro uses a black LED that reduces light reflection from the panel surface. That improves contrast so image detail stays vivid, and Absen quotes a contrast ratio of 8,500:1. It is the solid-panel counterpart to the transparent JP8 Pro in the same series.
Built for the touring stage
The JP Pro series uses large panels, a precision locking system and an integrated power box to shorten setup and changeovers. Hanging and ground-supported stacking are both supported; with wind-bracing systems and hanging bars, 1000 x 1000 mm panels withstand Beaufort force 8 winds (up to 74 km/h) at rigging heights of 24 m, according to Absen. Angle adjustment gives curved walls from -10° convex to +15° concave.
How to choose the right size and pixel pitch
Pixel pitch is the distance between neighbouring LED pixels: a smaller pitch gives a sharper image that can be viewed from closer. As a common industry rule of thumb, the minimum comfortable viewing distance in metres is roughly equal to the pixel pitch in millimetres, so a 2.5 mm pitch suits viewers sitting about 2.5 m or further away. Touring and event walls are usually viewed from a distance, so pitch is chosen with the audience position; the JP5 Pro has a 5.2 mm pitch.
Corporate AV checks pitch, wall size and aspect ratio against your seating, content and budget during the site survey, so the JP5 Pro is specified for how the room is actually used.
